Portugal news - Two Portuguese companies rank among the winners of the German Innovation Awards 2024, namely a coffee machine by NOVADELTA and a recyclable lightweight gas cylinder by Amtrol-Alfa.
The German Innovation Awards honors products, projects and pioneering achievements that sustainably improve life through innovation and progress. The German Design Council is one of the world’s leading centers of expertise for communication and knowledge transfer in the area of design and the German award provides a platform for innovative solutions, from Green Mobility, Digital Healthcare and New Work to exceptional engineering achievements in all fields.
The winners of the German Innovation Awards 2024 were honored at a festive awards ceremony at the Futurium Berlin on 14 May 2024, where two Portuguese innovative products received awards, namely the RISE by Delta Q with Starck coffee machine and the Pluma NEXI™ gas cylinder.
The RISE by Delta Q with Starck coffee machine received an award at the German Innovation Awards 2024 for its revolutionary brewing system. The Portuguese coffee machine received a Special Mention for Excellence in Business to Consumer Household Appliances. The innovative coffee machine was developed by Philippe Starck for Portuguese company NOVADELTA that belongs to Grupo Nabeiro and is headquartered in Lisbon.
The Pluma NEXI™ gas cylinder received an award at the German Innovation Awards 2024 for its fully recyclable Lightweight cylinder with IoT. The Portuguese gas cylinder received a Gold Excellence award in Business to Consumer Household Appliances. The innovative gas cylinder was developed by Carlos Aguiar, eD Escritorio de Design in Portugal with Bruno Teixeira and Amtrol-Alfa Worthington Enterprises for Portuguese company Amtrol-Alfa, Metalomecânica S.A. and Galp Energia. Amtrol-Alfa is, that is based in Guimarães, Portugal, is Europe’s largest manufacturer of gas cylinders.
