Portugal news – The new Cartier building in Lisbon is a showstopper and stands in pride of place on Lisbon’s luxury avenue, Avenida da Liberdade.
Portugal’s new flagship Cartier boutique has a wow factor with its eye-catching glass dome made of stained glass, that reflects the light in inviting tones. The dome is reminiscent of the Art Nouveau craftsmanship of the late 19th century, with its design welded with gold wire.
Visitors to Cartier’s new boutique in Lisbon should prepare to be dazzled by the spectacular glass dome that is the work of artist Jorge Aragone, and by the maritime décor which was designed by architects Bruno Moinard and Claire Bétaille.
The new Cartier boutique in Lisbon covers 250m2 and welcomes visitors with a striking panel in lacquer and straw marquetry that features the image of a panther, that is one of Cartier’s most iconic symbols. The work of art was designed by the Lison de Caunes and Midavaine ateliers.
The entire Cartier boutique in Lisbon is a work of art that includes traditional Portuguese craftsmanship with the traditional Azulejo tiles and a mosaic featuring the flag of the Lisbon City Council, while the blue and yellow colors remind of Portugal’s iconic Jerónimos Monastery.
Lisbon’s Cartier boutique contains an enchanting bridal area that evokes a marine environment that reveals Cartier’s diamond collections. Cartier’s bridal area is decorated with ropes of various lengths and colors with a gold patina that are adorned with mother-of-pearl and that remind visitors of Portuguese navigators. The work of art is signed by artist Véronique de Soultrait. Cartier invites future brides to stand under the ethereal chandelier that flows down like transparent drops of water, for a unique experience back to an era of discoveries.
The first floor of Cartier Lisbon includes a Garden Room with traditional Portuguese embroidery in yellow, green, blue and red tones, while the exclusive Private Room is reminiscent of by the grand architecture of the Basilica Gallery of the Mafra Palace.
