Portugal news - Engexpor completes phase 1 of Europe's largest data center in Portugal, SIN01, that is the first building of the ambitious Sines DC project developed by Start Campus. The pilot building is the smallest of a total of 6 buildings planned for the Start Campus, which in its final stage will have 1.2 GW of installed capacity with an investment of 8.5 billion euros.
The first building in Europe's largest data center in Portugal is now open at the Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone (ZILS). With an area of 21,600 m², distributed over a single floor, and an installed capacity of 14 MW, SIN01 offers several functional areas, including IT, electrical, mechanical and support areas standing out for the integration of cutting-edge technology and sustainable solutions.
SINES DC offers solutions tailored to meet the growing demand in the data center sector. Portugal’s data center is AI-ready and incorporates the most advanced liquid cooling technologies in a versatile and scalable model. The Sines data center uses 100% renewable energy sources and targets a PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of 1.1, taking advantage of natural ocean cooling.
