Portugal news - Prince Harry and Meghan may have to settle in their new house in Portugal since Prince Harry is currently unsure of his US immigration status and his visa application may be denied.

President-elect Donald Trump made a statement at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February that he might consider deporting Harry over issues regarding his US visa status, adding: “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own.”

Despite being happy in California, Prince Harry and Meghan have just purchased a new £3.6 million villa in Portugal, near Princess Eugenie’s residence. While the plan is to use their new residence in Portugal as a holiday home, Prince Harry may have to settle in Portugal if Donald Trump goes ahead with his decision to deport Prince Harry over his US visa status.

Prince Harry and Meghan bought a new house in one of the 300 residences at the 722-acre Costa Terra Golf and Ocean Club resort in Portugal, that is located along an idyllic coastline with white sandy beaches. However, Prince Harry and Meghan are also facing another visa complication since they do not have European Union citizenship. It is possible that their new real estate investment in Portugal may help them obtain a Golden visa that will give them EU citizenship.

For Prince Harry and Meghan, the advantages of relocating to Portugal would be that they would not only be far from the usual news media harassment, but they would also be able to live a relaxed and healthy lifestyle while living next door to Princess Eugenie. Prince Harry and Meghan would be able to live with family members in Portugal as they not only enjoy the company of Princess Eugenie, but their children Archie who is 5, and Lilibet who is 3, would also be able to grow up with Princess Eugenie's sons, August who is 3, and Ernest who is 1, and thus develop stronger ties to members of the royal family.

Since Portugal is much closer to the UK than the US, it would make it much easier for Prince Harry and Meghan to visit the UK.  While Prince Harry and Meghan are not even entertaining the idea of relocating to the UK, Portugal might be a good location for going there for short visits.
