Portugal news - Portugal ranks 2nd highest growth in household income in the EU in 2024, according to the OECD.
While Poland ranks 1st country with the highest growth in household income per capita in the EU in 2024, rising by 10.2%, Portugal ranks 2nd highest growth in household income rising by 6.7% and therefore surpassing the OECD average of 0.9%.
Moreover, GDP per capita increased in 21 out of 27 countries across Europe, with Portugal ranking 5th with an increase in the quarterly real GDP per capita of 0.68% in 2024.
Growth in household income per capita was mainly driven by increases in employee compensation, social benefits and property income.
