Portugal economic news - Portuguese exports of goods and services grew by 5.3 percent from January to October 2023, compared to the same period in 2022.
Portuguese exports of goods and services reached an accumulated value of 106,673 million euros, registering an increase of 5,358 million euros, according to data published by Banco de Portugal. Portugal’s higher export figures and lower import figures resulted in a trade balance surplus of 3,961 million euros.
Portugal’s main growth markets are France that registered an increase of 7.2%, Germany that registered an increase of 8.1%, and Brazil that registered an increase of 40.4%.
While Portugal’s main export markets are Spain, France, Germany, the UK and the US, the country’s main export sectors are travel and tourism with a share of 20.9%, followed by Machinery and Appliances with a share of 9.4% and Transport services with a share of 8.0%.
