Portugal news - The Portuguese startup Growappy closes its first investment round with 850,000 euros, including 200,000 euros in strategic technology sponsorships. This funding has already enabled the startup to consolidate its business in Spain and hire new employees.

"The Portuguese startup Growappy formally closed its first investment round at the beginning of this new year, following the announcement in August 2024 of an initial funding of 600,000 euros led by Caixa Capital. In total, the round was established at 650,000 euros in venture capital plus 200,000 euros in sponsorships from strategic technology partners. The combination of these funds creates the ideal conditions for Growappy to accelerate its international growth, consolidate in Portugal, and offer innovative solutions for early childhood education even faster."

"This investment represents an important milestone in our journey. Our solution allows simplifying the day-to-day life of educators and streamlining communication between schools and families. Growappy provides educators with the necessary tools to ensure an individualized educational approach to the needs of each child, with the vision of offering, for the first time, personalized education from infancy, an unprecedented innovation in this sector!", states the CEO of the startup, Nuno Gomes.

Since August last year, Growappy has grown its team to 18 members, including 4 in Spain where the company has already opened an office and is also working with the first schools in that market, raising its customer base to 400 schools across 9 countries.

The Venture Capital director of Caixa Capital, Walter Palma, states: "We are excited about the potential that the most recent developments in the field of artificial intelligence have to transform the field of education, as well as the vision and capacity demonstrated by the promoters of Growappy in the field of early childhood education".

"We see the commercial expansion to the Spanish market as the natural extension of the leadership position that the company has been able to build in the Portuguese market", adds Walter Palma.

Founded by three computer engineers from the Instituto Superior Técnico who encountered challenges in communication with schools when they became parents, Growappy bets on an integrated approach to school management, simplification of processes and ensuring regulatory compliance.

In 2022, the Portuguese startup Growappy won the "Best Digital Transformation Project" award, given by the Portugal Digital Awards.
