Portugal celebrities’ news – The soundtrack for the movie Poor Things with Emma Stone, that includes fado music “O Quarto” by Portuguese singer Carminho, is nominated for an Oscar.

 

The movie Poor Things, that premières this Thursday in Portugal, received 11 Oscar nominations, including the soundtrack with fado music by Portuguese singer Carminho. The winners of The Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars, will be announced on March 10th.

During the Première of Poor Things, Portuguese fado singer Carminho was photographed with Taylor Swift and with Emma Stone.

 

The Portuguese fado music style, that is usually sung by a single person accompanied by a Portuguese guitar, is listed as a Cultural and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
